We need a highly talented individual who splits his / her professional personality in two ways! You must be 50% design genius, yet have 50% of yourself in the techie world that can hand-code, has a large portfolio of web projects completed and who understands web development, technology and can execute our client’s visions.

Our web designer is responsible for our design and flash-animation projects. The successful candidate will be involved in contributing to the development of websites including:

• Conceptualize and produce graphics and design layouts for the Web
• HTML-capable (hand-coding)
• Design new templates for existing and new websites.
• Create and conceptualize both simple and complex graphics.
• Creation of logos, headers and banners, e-mails, e-newsletters, online ads and other projects as required.
• The ability to create impactful animations and work with Flash
• The ability and talent to create effective illustratations (would be an asset)
• Provide timely updates to management.
• Work with management to identify new opportunities and fulfill business goals.

The successful applicant must be:

• Highly creative and a driven individual who is comfortable in a progressive environment.
• Enjoy working in a team, sharing ideas but are able to run with a project unsupervised.
• A talented designer with a background in web specific production.
• Deadline orientated and is able to deliver - within a budget
• Looking to work for a successful, creative firm that thinks \"outside of the box\"
• 2 - 5 + years experience (minimum)
• College diploma or Bachelor Degree is helpful, but self-developed wizards are welcome to apply and will be seriously considered as well
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Ability to learn, adapt, innovate and keep up-to-date with industry advances
• Self motivated and self managed
• Capable of using initiative, thinking and acting clearly under pressure

Skills Required:

• Excellent web design skills.
• Strong execution skills.
• Strong understanding of Web graphic creation, layout and production.
• Able to ‘hand code’ programming projects
• Advanced knowledge of graphic software: Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
• Advanced knowledge of multimedia software Macromedia Dreamweaver (HTML editor), Macromedia Flash including action scripting.
• Excellent knowledge of HTML and web publishing procedures.
• Ability to express and articulate creative ideas.
• Strong understanding of using the internet and websites as a consumer.
• Able to follow the creative direction of our creative director.
• Excellent reporting skills.
• Experience developing animated images.
• Programming experience in Javascript, ASP and/or PHP a definite asset but not required.
• Able to multi-task and manage priorities to deliver quality results on time.
• Past sales or project and client management experience a definite asset.

COMPENSATION:

Commensurate with experience.
